in full Funded Scholarship in the University of Queensland ( UQ ), Australia aims to reward the achievements of outstanding school leavers and gap year students. If you are a high-achieving scholar and you are completing Year 12 in 2018 ( or you completed in 2017 and you ’ re on a gap year ) then you are encouraged to apply. Up to 150 scholarships are offered each year, including up to 50 Vice Chancellor ’ s Scholarships, 50 Excellence Scholarships, and 50 Merit Scholarships. Offers will be made after the let go of of class 12 results, starting with Vice Chancellor ’ s eruditeness offers, which will be made before Christmas this class. There are three categories of Academic Scholarship on offer :

  • UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships: Awarded before Christmas each year to applicants who achieve a minimum ATAR of 99.90 or equivalent. Award Value: $ 12,000 per year Duration: Up to 5 years Level: Undergraduate and any subsequent relate graduate study such as Honours. Total Value: up to $ 60,000 :
  • UQ Excellence Scholarships:  OP1 (or equivalent) applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic, leadership and/or significant community service achievements during years 11-12. Award Value: $ 6,000 per year Duration: Up to 4 years Level: Undergraduate and any subsequent relate graduate student learn such as Honours. Total Value: up to $ 24,000
  • UQ Merit Scholarships : high achieving students ( OP 1-3 ) who have demonstrated meaning academic, leadership and/or community service will be considered.

    Award Value: $ 6,000 Duration: First class of learn Level: Undergraduate sketch

Eligibility academician scholarships are unfold to Year 12 and break year students who :

  • are Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holders; or
  • are Australian Permanent Residents, New Zealand citizens, or international students who are completing or have completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia;


  • have NOT completed any previous tertiary study other than that undertaken as part of Year 11-12 studies (eg. Enhanced Studies Program); and
  • have applied for a tertiary place through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC); and
  • are intending to enroll as a full-time student in an undergraduate program at The University of Queensland in 2019 (or 2020 if they are deferring their tertiary place); and
  • have UQ listed as their 1st or 2nd QTAC preference.

Selection Criteria

  • Scholarship recipients will be determined by a panel of senior UQ staff and selection is completely at the University’s discretion.
  • Scholarships will be awarded with consideration to a range of factors including but not necessarily limited to academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and/or community service achievements, financial need, program preferences and secondary school attended.
  • Bonus ranks applied as a result of any scheme will NOT apply for the purposes of awarding scholarships.
