Carlton is an inner-northern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, immediately adjoining Melbourne ‘s Central Business District. Its local government area is the City of Melbourne. There were talks and proposals of extending the City Loop to service Carlton, but no concrete plans have been proposed. Rod Eddington ‘s East West Link Needs Assessment does mention however, that there will be metro ( sulfur ) in Carlton, as a separate of the proposed 17 kilometer metro burrow. [ 13 ]
